Hello my lovelies, this Christmas I’m trying something new and exciting! As many of you know, as well as being a best-selling and award-nominated author I love all things craft! It’s what keeps me sane and allows my imagination to soar so that I can keep writing stories for you all 😊
I’ve been creating individual art pieces, Christmas decorations and bookmarks for family, friends and fellow authors for years and within my work you will often find repurposed costume jewellery that I’ve returned a little sparkle to! I love the thought that each piece of pre-loved jewellery I use had a wearer and that wearer’s life will have been made up of thousands and thousands of stories, so welcome to Eve’s Story Gems…
Bookmarks make fabulous gifts and can you ever have too many Christmas decorations?? I’m about to find out by doing my first ever Christmas Fair! Eek! Pop back to find out how my first foray into selling goes. Who knows – it may even become a regular thing with a storefront on this very website 😊
In my work I use artistic wire, beads that are glass, acrylic, plastic, wooden and metal, pre-loved costume jewellery, ribbon, elastic, cotton, jewellery findings made from mixed metals, air-dry clay, birchwood craft sticks, nail varnish and non-toxic glue. As a lot of my bookmarks and decorations are made from pre-loved jewellery, they may show some signs of wear but I believe it is better to repurpose something instead of throwing it away – especially if it is sparkly!
